Do you like movies? I certainly do! You`ll agree that finding a film that can entertain you while teaching you industry lessons is the best thing ever. There are many movies that come with good script related to public relations.
Here is a list to which I´m sure you can add:
- Wag the Dog (1997)
The president becomes embroiled in a sex scandal in the run up to the election, spin doctor Robert De Niro and producer Dustin Hoffman fake a war to divert media attention. A brilliant film, so long as you don’t work in PR. It was released suspiciously close to the Lewinsky affair (and subsequent military action in Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan and Yugoslavia).
- The Ides of March (2011)
An idealistic staffer for a new presidential candidate gets crash course on dirty politics during his stint on campaign trail.
- Thank you for smoking (2006)
Satirical comedy follows the machinations of Big Tobacco’s chief spokesman, Nick Naylor, who spins on behalf of cigarettes while trying to remain a role model for his twelve-year-old son.
- Phone Booth (2002)
If you ever want to know the difference between a PR pro and a publicist, watch the opening scene of this movie.
- All the President´s Men (1976)
“The Washington Post” reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncover the details of the Watergate scandal that leads to President Richard Nixon’s resignation.
- The Candidate (1972)
Bill McKay is a candidate for the U.S. Senate from California. He has no hope of winning, so he is willing to tweak the establishment.
- The Queen (2006)
After the death of Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth II struggles with her reaction to a sequence of events nobody could have predicted.
- Hancock (2008)
Hancock is a superhero whose ill considered behavior regularly causes damage in the millions. He changes when the person he saves helps him improve his public image.
