It’s 21st century and yes, everyone have their social media account. People use to say if you are not present on social media you must be dead or you are not born at all. Look at me! Still alive and trying to keep my privacy and my life just for myself. I mean it’s for your own good, isn’t it?
But…sometimes it’s so hard to save your privacy, what I don’t like.
Once I pictured a bottle of my favorite beer and send a photo to my friend via WhatsApp. The very next day on my Facebook account I saw an ad about that particular beer. Just to be clear, I never google that beer before and beer is not that common in my country. That was pretty scary, and made me think even about my WhatsApp.
You probably heard about Facebook affair – stilling data? Worldwide, there are over 2.13 billion monthly active Facebook users, which is 14 percent increase over year. In Europe, over 307 million people are on Facebook. Photo uploads total 300 million per day. 42 percent marketers report that Facebook is important to their business. It’s too big to ignore. Can you imagine what information Facebook possess. I’m not afraid cause I don’t share anything concerning my beliefs, my friends, and my family.
I do have a Facebook account, but the only information I provide is my name, and I don’t post my daily meals on Facebook or my location or my child’s photos..that’s totally insane. As long as I have my life I don’t care about social media, actually I don’t care what other people eating, where they are going or such a thing. I prefer drinking coffee with my friends rather than chatting with them on the cell. I use social media just for business.
Our private life should stay between our four walls and just for people that are real friends, not Facebook friends. But this is me. And I will continue to do so.
On the other hand, I do agree that you should use social media for your business, or if you have some project that is worth showing or talking about. But be careful with your private life.
Business is business an privacy is privacy.
So don’t cry later if someone tries to use your privacy for his own good.
What do you think about Facebook and about sharing every detail of your life? Do you think that is ok?
