Let’s assume that someday you want to open your own marketing or PR agency. Believe me, it’s the same thing when it comes to creating campaign for a client. There is a lot of things you need to do before launching campaign, so let’s start.
-
Choose the right team
This is the first thing you need to do. Of course, it depends on the importance of client and size of campaign, but you must to choose the right people.
First of all you need Project manager, and if it’s possible, choose Senior Project Manager. You need someone with experience, knowledge and someone who knows what to do if (when) things go wrong.
Of course, nothing happens without Account Manager. He is mainly in charge of communicating with the client, but there is also a lot of duties that Account Manager have to handle. He is bridge between Project Manager, Creative Director, Community Manager and client.
If you want to send your message on the social networks you need the Community Manager. It’s very important to find your best man for this job, because content is very powerfull tool and it needs to be used in a right way.
Nothing happens without…? Yeah, that’s right – Creative Director. He is brain of the project, he create but others deliver, simple as that. I am kidding, it’s not simple at all. Especially if your client is huge, Creative Director is your leader, so be carefull, choose the right one. If you can choose, of course.

Good brief
Client must tell you everything. If he doesn’t, there is a chance that your campaign would make a flop. And who will be guilty? Yours or some other agency, of course. Brief is mother and father, without brief you are blind. So, five main things you need to get is goals (business and communication), media mix, budget and KPI’s. Anything else is big plus of course, but these are the crucial information.

Don’t miss the deadline
Well, I know it’s obvious that you shouldn’t miss the deadline. But there is few situations when you miss it, not for your fault:
- Design is late
- Copy is late
- Someone is late, but not you…
Of course, it depends on the project, but if someone doesn’t deliver, neither can you.
-
Relax
Yep, relaxing is the key to a successful campaign. Don’t panic, because it will get worse. Try to concentrate, split tasks – take care of them one by one. Working under stress is bad for you and the project, but stress is part of our life, you just need to learn how to handle it.
I am still learning, believe me 😊
So, in which role you see yourself? Project or Account Manager? Community Manager or Creative Director?
