As a third year student, I had to do an internship so I could put in practice the skills I have been learning through the past years. I was accepted at the LEAP Summit conference organisation and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. LEAP Summit is a business, leadership and motivational conference for young people who want to learn something from experts in the area of business, in the digital and ecologic sector or just listen to inspirational life stories.

Since I’m a public relations student I was assigned in the marketing team, charged of promotion of the LEAP Summit in the digital media and social networks, of course with my colleagues help. I had to write some interviews and publications, which were something I expected to do, so nothing really challenging. At first I worked from home, did the tasks I was charged of and that was it. I didn’t actually know what to expect at the conference, but when it started it was amazing.
At the conference I had to interview the speakers, participants and people from the organisation. I spent three days running from one place to another searching people who would give me an interview and tell me their experience at the LEAP. After three days my colleagues and I collected more than a hundred of videos that will be used to make the LEAP Summit after-movie.
Although it was really different from what I expected at first, working at LEAP has been one of the best experiences I have ever had. I’ve met a lot of interesting people who has amazing stories to tell and people who want to listen to them and learn something from them. I have also participated in the creation of a fascinating conference and I’m very thankful for that, because watching how something has developed from an idea to a big project, which a lot of people like, is something very special.
As conclusion, I would tell everyone not to hesitate nor to overthink where to go on an internship or if you will be good enough for that. Internships are made to improve and develop your skills and to challenge you to do better, so just apply for your internship and start growing your career.
