4 Steps in Making a Catchy Instagram Bio

Writing a good Instagram bio might seem easy, but it requires a lot of effort!

According to researchers at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, they performed a study that has shown that it takes less than two-tenths of a second for an online visitor to form a first opinion about your account. Therefore, Instagram bio is important to everyone, including businesses, influencers or just regular people. In this post, I will share with you some best practices tips and tricks.

1) APPS that can enhance

Nowadays, everyone uses some kind of app to enhance their account. For bio, I recommends these ones

2) Your PROFILE NAME should be the one that you identity yourself or your business

Remember, it is all about you! Therefore, you should make the best out of it. If you are a regular user, go by the name you go or a nickname. If you do not want that, try to be unique and find a name that fits you by interests, hobbies, music etc. But, if you want to promote your business, I strongly recommend to stick with the name of your business, cuz you don’t want to confuse potential customers.

In your name field, you can play a little with also different kind of fonts from U P P E R C A S E to lowercase.

3)  NAME on fleek

Your account can have a centered or aligned name or bio content. You have probably seen it, and wondered how they did it. It just gives a more refined and flawless look. By centering your text, you also loose a good amount of characters in doing it. Because, in order to center your text, you are using invisible characters. In order to that, there is an app that I mentioned before, which is Unicode.

4) Content is the KING

First, you should think about who is your key audience? Who are your followers? Is your account personal of professional? What lifestyle or views you share with your followers? How do they use Instagram?

You should evaluate their social demographic characteristics, habits, behavior etc. In the back of your mind, you should always be aware of this while designing your bio – Bio is for gaining a new follower, not for you or for existing ones.
